ince the beginning of the governor-mandated school closure on March 17th, Port Angeles School District (PASD) has been creating a remote instruction plan for student learning. This online learning model relies heavily on devices for students. PASD has been working hard to ensure students have access to a device for their online instruction.
Sack lunch and breakfasts will be available to children ages 2-18 free of charge. The child must be present to receive the meals.
Port Angeles, WA - Governor Inslee announced yesterday that all schools will remain closed for the rest of the 2019-20 school year in order to slow the spread of COVID-19.
Spring Break for Port Angeles School District is next week, Monday, April 6 through Friday, April 10. Previously, we asked students and families to treat the week of March 16th as their Spring Break.

Students will be able to pick up their personal belongings Wednesday through Friday this week. Pick up will be from 10am to 1pm.
we apologize for the late notice last night regarding closing school today. There were several circumstances that changed the decision. Mainly, it was learning of Governor Inslee’s intent to impose additional restrictions across our state. To protect our staff, students, and community, we closed schools. We are working on establishing days/times for students to pick-up personal belongings. More details to come on that matter.
UPDATE - March 15, 2020 - Because of Governor Inslee’s announcement this evening regarding his intent to add additional state-wide restrictions, the Port Angeles School District is closing all schools to students and most staff starting tomorrow, Monday March 16th. Once again, there will be no school starting tomorrow. Further information as to when parents and students can come to school to pick up personal items will be announced tomorrow.
This afternoon, Governor Inslee announced his Executive Order to close all schools from March 17 through April 24. This means all Port Angeles School District schools will be open and operating on a regular schedule Monday, March 16th and then closed thereafter.
We just finished listening to Governor Jay Inslee announce new school guidelines to mitigate the effects of the COVID-19 outbreak, including mandatory school closures in Snohomish, King, and Pierce counties only. The closures in these counties are based on the number of confirmed COVID-19 cases, ability of Public Health to perform contact tracing, and student/staff attendance rates in those counties.
Many parts of the world are experiencing increasing instances of respiratory illness caused by a novel coronavirus called COVID-19. It is natural to feel some anxiety when hearing the reports. The health and safety of our students and staff is always our top priority, and we work closely with the Clallam County Health Department and the Washington State Department of Health.
Given recent media coverage around the coronavirus, we want to assure you that Port Angeles School District is keeping track of this situation through proven and trustworthy sources: our local health department and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). While health officials believe the risk to our school community is low, please know that Port Angeles School District is closely monitoring this matter.
