PAHS Presents Thumbelina Play for Kindergarteners, Second Performance for PublicOn Thursday, May 31 at 9 a.m., Port Angeles High School’s Drama II class will present the play Thumbelina for kindergarteners in the school district on the high school’s performing arts center stage.  This performance is not open to the public.

The drama class will also present an afterschool, open to the public, presentation of Thumbelina on Friday, June 8 at 6 p.m. in the PAHS performing arts center stage.  Doors open at 5:30 p.m. and the performance is just over an hour long. Price of admission is by donation only. 

Thumbelina is a play adaptation based on a story about a little girl born from a flower. The seed of the flower was planted by a woman who desperately wanted a little girl to raise and to love.  Soon after the seed is planted, Thumbelina emerges from the flower and meets two children, a prince and princess, from the land of the little who offer to help her. “But the Woman’s cat is jealous, and all the river’s toads, rats, mice, moles, birds are there to either sabotage or help her through all her travails.  

Participating students, all from Kelly Lovall’s PAHS Drama II class, include: Talia Anderson, Lacey Baker, Carrie Childers, Tommy Clark, Simon Close, Dalton Daugaard, Maariyah Dugan, Gwendolyn Frick, Lauren Hempel, Cody Hines, Dylan Hopkins, Justin Jackson, Alyssa Mills, Zachariah Perry, Madison Peterson, Sydney Realph-Wu, Breanna Schafer, Myra Walker, Breanna Willard, Ivory Wilson and Jackie Young.
